The Process of Writing: For Dummies
Prewriting-
In this stage, you start to plan what you are going to write, you should already have a topic at this point. You need to identify your audience and purpose, and then start brainstorming ideas. Then, organize your information.
Drafting-
In this stage, you begin writing your ideas in sentence and paragraph form. Follow your prewriting plan to complete your first draft.
Revising-
This stage is the first part of editing your first draft. There are many ways of doing this. You can have a partner read over your first draft, or take it to the writing center for improvement ideas.
Proofreading-
In this stage, you finish your editing by polishing your work. Check for grammar, capitalization, spelling, and punctuation errors. Then finish your final draft.
Publishing-
Finally have your paper ready to turn in.
